Initial training course

All new staff members will undergo a fully funded two-week face to face training course, coving in-depth subjects such as Safeguarding, Health and Safety, First Aid, Adverse Childhood Experiences and Trauma, Reporting & Recoding & our own BILD certificated Minimising Physical Intervention training programme.

These courses provide staff with the knowledge to support them in their new role. Our courses are designed and reviewed by sector professionals and delivered by our internal managers to allow individuals to expand their own knowledge and confidence to go on and grow within their roles.

As part of the initial training course, staff also undergo a four-day minimising physical intervention course – Safe and Sound. All our Safe and Sound trainers are approved by the BILD (British Institute of Learning Disabilities) ACT against the Restrain Reduction Network (RRN) Standards to deliver approved certificated curriculum.

Following this initial training we ensure all staff continue to receive the appropriate training and development opportunities to maintain the highest standards of childcare practice, which responds to legislative and best practice frameworks, and individual aspirations and career goals.

I felt the training provided was excellent and covered a variety of relevant topics relevant to my current role.

The training gave me all the tools I needed to start my career as a support worker with confidence.

The training was delivered professionally, by the people, who could share their experiences. Very informative and to the high standards. At the same time, we were given an opportunity to ask as many questions as possible. The venue was great, and everybody felt welcome.

All the trainers were extremely approachable and knowledgeable.

How comfortable all instructors made me feel and how engage I was with all this new information, the way we were thought made me feel ready to start my role as a support worker.
